Bangkok Thonburi University joins forces with the Faculty of Medicine from three leading educational institutions, signing a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on advancing medical advancement

On March 13, 2026, Professor Dr. Bang-orn Benjathikul, President of Bangkok Thonburi University (BTU), graciously welcomed representatives from various medical faculties via video message, including Rangsit University, Siam University, and Western University. This was on the occasion of the signing ceremony of a Letter of Intention (LOI) for collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine, Bangkok Thonburi University, and the Faculties of Medicine from the aforementioned universities. The LOI was signed by Professor Emeritus Dr. Saraneet Waikakul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Bangkok Thonburi University; Professor Clinical Dr. Jesada Chokdamrongsuk, President of the College of Medicine, Rangsit University; Professor Emeritus Dr. Amorn Leelarasmi, Vice President and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siam University; and Associate Professor Dr. Niyom Laopaksiri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Western University.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the four medical faculties aims to strengthen the relationship between the four educational institutions and promote the creation of a collaborative network among medical faculties from private universities. This includes academic collaboration, support for short-term and long-term exchange programs for faculty and medical students, and the promotion of cooperation in various aspects of medical research.
In addition, the Faculty of Medicine, Bangkok Thonburi University, organized a special lecture entitled “EdPEx: How can we support each other?” by Professor Emeritus Dr. Saraneet Waikakul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Bangkok Thonburi University, for participants in the MOU signing ceremony. This aimed to facilitate the exchange of ideas, processes, and best practices in improving the quality of medical education.
The MOU was witnessed by the executives of the Faculty of Medicine, Bangkok Thonburi University, along with executives from the medical faculties of the three aforementioned institutions, faculty members, and students, and took place at the 4th floor of the Sports Complex, Bangkok Thonburi University.
