On February 25, 2026, Professor (Special) Dr. Duangrit Benjathikul Chairungruang presided over the opening ceremony of the “Green U – BTU” project under the concept of “Separate Before Disposing – Save Energy – Adjust Daily Behavior” (Green Waste – Green Energy – Green Lifestyle Challenge). The project aims to raise awareness among faculty, staff, and students of Bangkok Thonburi University about the importance of clean energy and the value of conserving electricity for sustainability. Dr. Natcha Chairungruang, Executive Director of Bangkok Thonburi Demonstration School, also participated in the opening ceremony.
This project is a key policy set by Professor Dr. Bangorn Benjathikul, President of Bangkok Thonburi University, to support the development of academic and professional knowledge and education, coupled with the development of an educational institution that is friendly to clean energy and the environment sustainably, in order to promote national energy security.
The activities of the “Green U – BTU” project, under this core concept, include systematic waste management such as separating waste before disposal, establishing four-category waste sorting points, and campaigning to reduce the use of single-use plastics; and activities promoting energy-saving behaviors such as campaigning to turn off lights. These include activities such as turning off air conditioners when not in use, and behavioral changes in daily life, such as campaigning for people to bring their own water bottles and using cloth bags. The aim of these activities is to promote the concrete participation of all personnel and students from all faculties and programs at Bangkok Thonburi University in demonstrating energy conservation in all aspects.
Bangkok Thonburi University also organized a special event, selling clothing and apparel belonging to Professor Dr. Bang-orn Benjathikul, the President of Bangkok Thonburi University, as well as clothing belonging to Professor (Special) Dr. Duangrit Benjathikul Chairungruang and Dr. Natcha Chairungruang, at "affordable and budget-friendly prices."
On this occasion, Professor (Special) Dr. Duangrit Benjathikul Chairungruang and Dr. Natcha Chairungruang participated in an auction of clothing and apparel belonging to both Professor (Special) Dr. Duangrit and Dr. Natcha. The event was well-attended by administrators, faculty, and students at the CC ASEAN Building, Bangkok Thonburi University.
